FABRIC INFORMATION AND CARE

To better help you choose a fabric we've listed the different types of fabrics we offer along with a short description and washing care. We are happy to send out fabric swatches so don't hesitate to call us at 800-628-5525 for a swatch packet or email us.

BAMBOO -

Bring in the green! This 100% Bamboo fabric is natural and eco-friendly. Naturally anti-bacterial and odor-resistant, even after washing. Nearly three times more absorbent than cotton, the fibers of the bamboo plant are naturally porous, so they absorb and wick moisture away from the skin, keeping you cool and dry.

Durable and strong - the thinness and whiteness degree of bamboo fiber is similar to classic viscose. Bamboo fabrics can look and drape like silk. They resist wrinkling and have passed flammability requirements without the addition of formaldehyde. Low Maintenance: Cold water wash, iron medium and tumble dry low.

We offer the Bamboo in a woven style - no give and in a bamboo/cotton knit with stretch.

RAYONS - all of our rayons are a woven fabric which means they don't have any give. All our washable - most do best hang to dry.
Print Rayons- 100% rayon- nice drape.
Bemberg Rayons - 100% rayon - bembergs are a dressier nicer type of rayon. We don't get these often so we're happy to offer them for spring. Sueded feel.
Tencel rayons - Blend of tencel and rayon. Tencel is a natural fiber that feels alot like sueded silk. Good choice for dressier needs.
Crinkle rayons - rayon/poly blend with a crinkle texture to it.

COTTONS(woven) - All are 100% cotton - washable - recommend to air dry. The cottons are a woven "no give" fabric.
Woven cottons - light weight
Crinkle cottons - nice summer time cool weight gauzy type fabric.
Seersuckers - prints or solids - has typical "seersucker" look to the fabric. Great for summer.
Shirtings - think mens dress shirts when picturing these fabrics - oxfords and pinpoints - some 50/50 blend.

KNITS - all washable -
Interlock knits - print or solids - soft drapey fabric with give. 100% cotton or 60/40 blends.
Jersey knits - prints or solids - similar in weight to interlock but not quite as stretchy and all are 100% cotton.
Boucle knits - a novelty fabric with a nubby texture outside with a smooth inside. Cotton. All have solid coordinating interlock knits to mix and match

LINENS - all washable- we have 2 blends linen/rayon or linen/cotton - both have the typical linen wrinklability but are nice natural fiber fabrics with a nice soft hand and drape.

VELOUR/VELVETS
Velour - 80% cotton/20% poly to machine wash - nice velour feel, stretch
Velvet - stretch velvet in a 90%poly/10%lycra blend. Dry clean. Beautiful for the holidays.

TWILLS/DENIMS - washable
Cotton twill - 100% cotton woven fabric. Think "khaki pants" when picturing this fabric. Does best in bottoms or dresses not blouses.
Stretch twill - 96% cotton/ 4% lycra for a nice stretch.
Jean denim - cotton/poly blend with a little give
Denim lycra - cotton/lycra blend with a lot of give
Regular denim - 100% cotton lighter weight for blouses, skirts and dresses.

SUITINGS - PRINTS/SOLID - washable except for the wools
Rayon/poly suiting. - woven non give fabric. Nice year round weight
Wools - best suited for fall/winter - flannel wool does nicely in suits. Dry clean

MISC. FABRICS -
Slinky - acetate/lycra stretchy fabric which is none for its drape and ease of care. Washable
Lycra - cotton/lycra blend we use for legging/stirrups/bike shorts. Soft and stretchy, washable
Nylon - used for our windbreaker - windproof, waterproof, washable
Corduroy- beautiful woven mini wale fabric. 100% cotton, washable
Scrub fabric- cotton/poly scrub poplin. machine wash/dry
Stretch Gabardine - a nice weight for pants and suits - poly/rayon/lycra lends to give this fabric a nice hand and wonderful give. Washable
Polar Fleece - 100% poly know for its insulating warmth yet lighter weight. Washable
Sweat Fleece - 80% cotton/20% poly typical "sweatshirt" fabric. Fleece on inside - smooth on out. Washable
French Terry - 80% cotton/20% poly - terry loop on inside - smooth on out. Washable
Flannels -brushed 100% cotton woven fabric is soft both side and warm for the cool days. washable.
